I want you to get the care you deserve.

Transforming mental healthcare

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist who primarily works with patients in person. However, I understand that access to formally trained psychodynamic therapists can be limited in regional and interstate areas. To ensure support is available no matter where you are, I offer online sessions for those outside the Greater Brisbane area.

A modern approach

Psychodynamic therapy takes a holistic approach, focusing on the patient as a whole rather than just their symptoms. Unlike problem-focused therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which aim to manage or reduce symptoms, psychodynamic therapy delves into the deeper needs, desires, and underlying patterns that shape a person’s experiences (McLeod, 2014). By exploring the why behind thoughts and behaviors—not just the what—psychodynamic therapy fosters meaningful, lasting change.

Welcome, I’m Kristy.

Life moves quickly, and in the process of caring for others, it’s easy to lose sight of yourself. Our time together is a space just for you—somewhere to pause, reflect, and make sense of what feels overwhelming, confusing, or unfulfilling.

With a wealth of diverse life experiences, I bring a practical, open-minded, and compassionate approach to therapy. In our regular sessions, you’ll have the time and support to explore your thoughts and emotions, helping you uncover a deeper sense of clarity, confidence, and connection to your authentic self.

I practice The Conversational Model of psychodynamic psychotherapy, a well-researched and deeply effective approach to understanding and healing. I have extensive experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, including those from the LGBTQI+ community.

Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to support you.
